Manage geolocation of forest plots used for your wood raw materials.
The source forest of each seemingly identical product, even those made of the same wood, can change over time: one supplier might be using multiple forest permits or multiple plots in a single forest, or you might have a new timber supplier in the supply chain, maybe even in a different country.
Compliance with EUDR* regulations requires operators to know the source geolocation of any related products (including wood).
In other words, the fluctuation of different forest origins over time no longer enables companies, depending on their supplies and type of industrial transformation, to know only “globally” and “punctually” the origin of their raw materials.
If your company falls within the scope of the EUDR* regulations:
- 1) Have you revised your purchasing policy to take into account these geolocation requirements for suppliers of your wood raw materials?
- Does your internal traceability system (or chain of custody) make it possible to identify the origin (forest) of the raw materials used?
- Does your internal system allow you to assign the forests used (geolocation) to each component of your wood products at the end of the chain (sale)?
Our SOURCE module answers these questions with a dual-purpose tool: geolocation of forest plots used and assignment of these plots to the components of your wood products.
*EUDR: European Union (EU) deforestation-free regulation (EUDR) ; enacted 29/06/2023; applicable from 30/12/2024, from 30/06/2025 for SMEs.
Products in question: cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil, palm, rubber, soya, timber (see list in EUDR Annex 1 with customs codes).
SME (Directive 2013/34/UE): “[Small or Medium Enterprises] are companies that at date of balance sheet do not exceed at least two of the following criteria: balance sheet total 20,000,000€; net sales 40,000,000€; average number of employees 250.”

Ekwato SOURCE manages all geolocated forest plots for your wood products: create your own wood product source maps!
Unlimited forest sourcing management:
– For greater flexibility within the realities of the field, a forest is made up of one or several forest plots.
– You can create as many forests as you like, and an unlimited number of forest plots in each forest, according to your needs!
Ease of use:
– The module is designed to load digital “ShapeFiles” created by Geographic Information System (GIS) software used by foresters, cartographers and forestry consultancies.
– The module also allows you to designate your own geolocation points and create a forest plot on-screen.
– The surface and central point are automatically calculated.
Traceability all the way to the forest:
– This module can assign over time different forest plots to a single product; you can therefore prepare a single product for import and export with multiple different source forests.
– This allows you to manage source forests according to your logistical concerns and your wood sourcing strategy.
Regulation:
– The module allows you to prepare a “Due Diligence Statement” (DDS) document as per EUDR regulation (see Annex 2), notably containing a full list of geolocation points of every forest plot used for the wood product in question; even if previous DDS have already been established.
– Linked with the COLLECT and RISK modules, the risk level of each wood product is relayed each day allowing you to make the right decisions at the right time (import, market launch, export).
